This year, Bethany are the official charity partner of the Surf Coast Century, a spectacular 50km and 100km ultra marathon race for solo runners and relay teams in the Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road region taking place on Saturday 17th September.

Registrations have now closed but you can get involved by donating or supporting your child to particpate in the Bethany Kids’ run on Sunday 18th September

The statistics surrounding family violence are alarming.

  • 1 in 4 women have experienced physical, emotional or sexual violence by a current or former intimate partner since age 15
  • 1 in 2 women have experienced sexual harassment in their lifetime

Get involved in the Bethany Kids' Run

At Bethany we love seeing active kids and involving them in all things fun in our local community, so as part of the Rapid Ascent Ultra Running Events we invite children and families to get involved in the Bethany Kids’ Run – along Anglesea’s beautiful Main Beach.  Every child who runs in the Bethany Kids’ Run will not only receive a special race plate, ribbon and badge, but will also be raising awareness and funds to support women and children in our community experiencing family violence.

Sunday 18th September - 9am

20% of the entry price will be donated to Bethany Community Support. There will also be lots of other fun activities to entertain the kids all morning.

Please note, this run is NOT a race. It is purely participation-based to get kids active in school holidays. Every child who enters is a winner!

Register online or on the day at the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club at 8am. To find out more, click here

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a participant to donate?

No. We encourage anyone who is in a position to support and donate what you can.

Do I need to fundraise to participate in the Surf Coast Century?

No you don’t. You can run in the event without  having to become a fundraiser. If you are in the position we always welcome donations to our cause of ending family violence.

How do I start fundraising?

Join up as a fundraiser here.

Your online fundraising page can then be shared with friends, family and colleagues who would like to support you in your fitness and fundraising goal with a tax deductable donation.  A secure payment gateway allows people to donate via credit card; everyone who donates to your online fundraising page automatically receives a tax-deductible receipt (for donations over $2).

What’s the best way to ask people to sponsor me?

We know that asking friends, family or colleagues for donations and support can be a daunting task. When you ask for a donation, we recommend making it personal. Let people know why you are passionate about supporting people who have experienced famiyl violence.

Send out a text, email or even post on your social media pages to spread the word amongst your friends. Every single donation makes a difference.

Is my donation tax deductible?

All cash donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.  A receipt will be issued once you finalise your donation.

How do I donate to my friend who is running?

Ask your friend if they have a specific donation link. If they do get them to send that to you. If not you can donate directly through this page

I didn’t mean to donate that amount - how do I get a refund?

If you’ve made an error whilst donating, don’t worry.  Just send an email with a copy of your receipt and brief explanation to donations@bethany.org.au
